AB VistaTM A Division of AB Agri

AB Vista is an integrated international supplier of new generation micro-ingredients for animal feeds. AB Vista has two products within its wide range of feed additives that have specific modes of action for increasing the performance of your herd. Using Acid Buf and Ultrasorb in the diet will increase farm outputs and maintain higher levels of animal health.

Acid Buf® is a natural, slow release rumen conditioner / buffer manufactured from calcareous marine algae harvested off the coast of Ireland and Iceland. Acid Buf has a unique honeycomb structure of calcified seaweed which offers a greater surface area for acid absorption preventing rumen pH from dropping below the critical level. It is also used in pig diets to reduce problems associated with excess acidity in the digestive system.

Ultrasorb is a new, totally unique product designed to bind and detoxify all mycotoxins that may be present in feed. Ultrasorb should be introduced whenever a mycotoxin challenge is suspected and cows are showing mycotoxin induced symptoms such as poor body condition or swollen udders.

For more information on our products please contact AB Vista by emailing info@abvista.com or visit our website: www.ab-vista.com

 Azelis

Azelis is the UK and Ireland distributor for the Phytobiotics GmbH range of speciality feed additives, including the pre-eminent Sangrovit® family of performance enhancing products.

Sangrovit® products are natural, plant-derived and standardised for the active alkaloid components – which can be qualitatively and quantitatively analysed, ensuring full traceability through the feed manufacturing process. Especially proven for pig, poultry and cattle applications, Sangrovit® can also be used for sheep, rabbit, horse and fish.

A well-established mode of action centres on the ability of Sangrovit® to promote intake and digestive performance. In particular, positive effects on amino acid balance and protein utilisation have been noted, leading to feed conversion, carcase quality and environmental benefits.

Sangrovit® is a safe and easy to handle, dust-free microgranular material, stable to feed manufacturing processes involving pressure, heat and acid. The standard product is ideally suited for use via premixtures whilst Sangrovit® X10 premix and Sangrovit® WS variants offer alternative applications for feed and water application respectively.

Other Phytobiotics products available via Azelis include flavours and sweeteners, chelated minerals, colostrum powder and prebiotics.

Danisco Animal Nutrition

A range of solutions from Danisco Animal Nutrition

Feed costs too high? Heat stress a problem? AGP-free nutrition a challenge?

These are just some of the challenges that Danisco’s Betafin feed betaine can help you solve.

To achieve lower feed costs, Betafin allows pig and poultry producers to reformulate the diet by removing all added choline chloride and some added methionine from the feed. Dietary energy levels can also be reduced without detriment to animal performance.

Under heat stress or disease conditions, Betafin is an osmolyte, which reduces dehydration. Trials have shown that Betafin improves gut structure, so improving nutrient absorption. This results in better and more uniform pig and poultry growth and feed conversion.

For increased breast meat in poultry or higher carcass lean yield in pigs, Betafin stimulates lean meat deposition. By helping the animal to maintain its water balance more efficiently, Betafin ensures more metabolic energy is made available to fuel lean growth.

Betafin, a natural feed supplement produced in a highly-purified form from sugar beet, provides pig and poultry producers with consistent animal performance thanks to its wide-ranging benefits.

Forum Products Ltd

Aromabiotic and Shellbiotic are based on a patented blend of medium chain fatty acids (MCFA) derived from tropical plant sources. Aromabiotic is given to pigs and poultry through the feed and acts by controlling the balance of microflora in the intestine. In this way MCFA’s help to maintain a healthy and stable gut environment that allows animals to make maximum use of the nutrients in their feed. A more stable intestinal flora also results in less infection pressure on the animal’s immune system and ultimately lessens mortality.

Independent university and commercial evaluations have shown Aromabiotic can outperform previously available growth promoters, organic acids and alternative growth promoters. The product has been shown to be highly effective against a wide range of micro-organisms including E.coli, Salmonella, Campylobacter and Clostridia. In addition, whereas the use of acetic and formic acids has been shown to increase the invasiveness of Salmonella into intestinal tissue and organs of chickens, MCFA’s have been shown to prevent the invasion of Salmonella at much lower concentrations than organic acids.

Shellbiotic contains lactic acid in addition to MCFA’s. It helps control salmonella in poultry, reduces egg shell problems in layers and breeders and improves persistency of lay.

Aromabiotic and Shellbiotic offer a proven alternative to antibiotic growth promoters and provide farmers with a powerful tool for safe and cost effective animal production.

Norel, S.A.

NOREL, S.A. manufactures various proven performance enhancers for most animal production sectors. With the GUSTOR range of physiological growth promoters we were the 2nd company worldwide to produce VFA and the first in the industrial development of these carboxylic acids. The range has been extended over the years with various protected sodium butyrate or calcium butyrate variations; all of these products exert an effect as a natural growth promoter, significantly reduce levels of pathogenic bacteria both in the intestinal and systematic phases. The GUSTOR range works progressively throughout all sections of the intestinal tract positive effect on animal health, better productivity, size of villi and the absorption of nutrients etc plus an important role in feed and food safety.

Norel’s range of probiotics includes ECOBIOL (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens) a spore-forming, heat-resistant strain of bacteria that produces vast amounts of enzymes, abundant lactic acid and also produces a natural anti-biotic barnase, a ribonuclease that inhibits the growth pathogenic bacteria populations and stimulates the GALT system. In feed it is compatible with acids commonly used in animal feed and also many antibiotics. ECOBIOL is also very effective at degrading organic matter proving an effective tool to decrease farm emissions, odours and manure/waste water contaminant levels.

Nor-Guard® OV11 - Natural antioxidants for improving key production parameters

Nor-Guard® OV11 is a mixture of flavouring compounds consisting of selected botanical extracts from olive leaves (Olea europaea) and grapes (Vitis vinifera). The botanical elements are rich in polyphenols, which are natural antioxidants that stimulate the immune system and reduce negative effects of oxidative stress.

Nor-Guard® OV11 is developed for inclusion in pig feeds in order to improve key production parameters such as average daily gain (ADG), feed intake and feed conversion (FCR).

Numerous trials with Nor-Guard® OV11 have revealed positive results. A meta-analysis on the inclusion of Nor-Guard® OV11 in piglet feeds during the first 21 days after weaning has shown the following results:

- ADG was improved by 10 % (P<0.05)
- FCR was improved by 11 % (P<0.05).

Furthermore, positive effects on key production parameters are recorded when included in feeds for growers and finishers.

Nor-Guard® OV11 is available as a premix and as a concentrated powder that is water soluble. Thus the product is appropriate for inclusion in both dry and wet feeds.

For more information on Nor-Guard® OV11 and trial results, please contact:
